PUK Parliamentary Bloc Condemns Attacks on Iraqi Territory

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) bloc in the Iraqi Parliament has condemned the attacks on Iraqi territory, stressing the need to keep the country out of escalating regional tensions.

In a statement received by PUKMEDIA, the PUK parliamentary bloc said: “The PUK bloc condemns the blatant attack on the Popular Mobilisation Forces, which resulted in a number of martyrs and injured personnel.”

The statement added: “We also condemn and denounce the continued attacks targeting the Kurdistan Region, regarding them as a clear violation of Iraq’s national sovereignty, international law, and the principles of good neighbourly relations.”

The PUK bloc further emphasised that, whilst condemning the attacks on Iraqi territory, it is essential to keep Iraq out of regional tensions and ensure that its territory is not used to threaten neighbouring countries.
