PMF Claims US and Saudi Forces Targeted Its Headquarters

Iraq's Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) said on Wednesday that several of its headquarters had been targeted in strikes which it attributed to the United States and Saudi Arabia, claiming the attacks caused casualties and damage to its facilities.

In a statement, the PMF said a number of its official headquarters in different parts of Iraq had come under attack.

According to the group, preliminary reports indicate that the strikes resulted in several fatalities and injuries, in addition to material damage to a number of PMF buildings and properties.

The PMF described the alleged attacks as "a highly dangerous escalation", accusing those responsible of violating Iraq's sovereignty and targeting one of the country's official security institutions.

It added that the relevant authorities were assessing the situation on the ground and conducting a full evaluation of the casualties and damage.

The PMF said further information would be released once the assessment had been completed, adding that updates would be provided through official statements.
