Iraqi Prime Minister to Visit Washington on Monday as Oil and Gas Deals Expected

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi will travel to Washington on Monday at the head of an official delegation following an invitation from the United States, government spokesperson Haider al-Aboudi announced during a press conference on Sunday.

Al-Aboudi said the visit will include the signing of several memorandums of understanding, particularly in the oil and gas sector.

He added that Iraq is seeking to attract a number of U.S. companies as part of efforts to expand investment in the energy sector and increase the country's oil production capacity.
