PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani's meeting with Holly Vare, the new British Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Holly Vare, the new British Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.

President Bafel welcomed Vere on her assumption of office and wished her every success in her new role, reaffirming the PUK’s support for her in carrying out her duties.

The two sides discussed with particular attention the strengthening of relations between the Kurdistan Region and the United Kingdom, emphasising the importance of expanding joint cooperation in ways that further serve the public interest.

The latest political and security developments in the region were also discussed. President Bafel reaffirmed the PUK’s consistent national position in favour of resolving issues through peaceful means, dialogue and mutual understanding.
