PUK President Receives Phone Call from Iranian Foreign Minister

PUK President and Iranian Foreign Minister.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received a telephone call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, His Excellency Dr. Abbas Araghchi.

During the call, both sides exchanged views on the latest security, political, and economic developments in the region and discussed pathways toward ending the current crisis. They stressed the importance of preserving peace and stability and strengthening cooperation in addressing shared challenges.

Talabani emphasised the importance of continued dialogue and diplomatic engagement as the most effective path toward de-escalation, the restoration of peace and stability, and safeguarding the interests of all peoples in the region. He commended Foreign Minister Araghchi for his continued diplomatic efforts and constructive role in seeking a peaceful end to the conflict and contributing to broader stability.

The two sides also discussed the longstanding strategic relationship between the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Islamic Republic of Iran, reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation based on mutual interests, good neighbourliness, and regional stability.

During the conversation, His Excellency Foreign Minister Araghchi invited President Talabani to visit Tehran for further discussions on the security and economic implications of the conflict, both regionally and internationally.
