The University of Sulaimani is set to host a seminar dedicated to exploring the rapid expansion and future prospects of Chinese vehicles within the Kurdistan Region.

The event, titled the Chinese Brand Vehicle Seminar, will take place on Wednesday, 12 August, at Congress Hall B on the university's New Campus. Attendees are scheduled to arrive at 3:30 pm, with formal proceedings commencing at 4:00 pm.

Organised jointly by the China Study Centre at the University of Sulaimani and the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Erbil the conference aims to evaluate the pivotal role of the automotive sector in the KRI’s ongoing economic transformation.

As the Kurdistan Region enters a new phase of industrialisation and economic diversification, the automotive market has emerged as a cornerstone for local economic development and improving livelihoods. Meanwhile, China—currently the world's largest manufacturer and distributor of automobiles—has seen its vehicle brands secure a rapidly growing foothold across the local market.

Discussions at the seminar will focus on market dynamics, technological advancement, and long-term growth forecasts for Chinese vehicle brands operating across the region.
