Russia's Wildberries Reports Another Ukrainian Drone Attack on Logistics Hub in the Urals

Russian online retailer Wildberries said on Friday that one of its logistics centres caught fire following a Ukrainian drone attack in Yekaterinburg, around 1,400 kilometres (870 miles) east of Moscow.

Reuters reported, citing the company, that the fire was later brought under control and that most of the goods stored at the facility were not damaged. In a post on Telegram, Wildberries confirmed the incident, while the regional governor said eight drones had been intercepted overnight, with three crashing onto the roof of the logistics centre.

According to the local governor, the drone strike was part of a broader wave of overnight attacks on the region.

Since 18 July, at least 20 Wildberries warehouses have reportedly been targeted in what Ukraine describes as a campaign to bring the war closer to ordinary Russians and increase the cost of Moscow's continued invasion of Ukraine, which began in February 2022.
