PUK President, Iraqi President Stress Need to Resolve Matters Via Constitution

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Nizar Amedi, President of the Republic of Iraq, in Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest political, economic and security developments at both the national and regional levels. They emphasised the importance of continuing dialogue and mutual understanding among all parties to safeguard stability across the country.

The discussions also focused on the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad. Both sides stressed the need to resolve these matters in accordance with the Constitution and to direct all efforts towards serving the public interest and improving services for citizens. They underscored the importance of preventing political disputes from adversely affecting the living conditions of the people.

Regarding the agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, both sides described it as a significant step that could help reduce tensions and promote the resolution of issues through dialogue.
