PUK is Yesterday’s Hope, Today’s Determination, Tomorrow’s Strength, Says PUK VP

Rifaat Abdullah, Vice President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), marked the party's 51st founding anniversary, stating that the anniversary is to mark the revival of a nation’s revolution led by the PUK, which sacrificed greatly in the struggle to secure all legitimate rights against dictatorship and fascism.

VP Abdullah's message read:

We proudly commemorate the 51st anniversary of funding the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), as a progressive force, as well as the beginning of our people’s new revolution.

We bow our heads in tribute to the soul of the Kurdish leader and our President, Mam Jalal, and to all the martyrs of the Kurdish liberation struggle. I extend my congratulations to all members and supporters of the PUK, as well as to all Kurds.

Today, we are not marking the anniversary of an ordinary political party, but rather the revival of a nation’s revolution led by the PUK, which sacrificed greatly in the struggle to secure all legitimate rights against dictatorship and fascism.

We reaffirm our commitment to remaining loyal supporters of the PUK, which we regard as a national asset. We believe that protecting and strengthening the PUK is a national necessity for Kurdistan.
