Kurdistan Region VP, Turkish CG Discuss Ways to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Sheikh Jafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, received Erman Topçu, Consul General of Türkiye in the Kurdistan Region.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest political developments in Iraq and the wider region, relations between Erbil and Baghdad, and efforts to resolve outstanding issues between them in accordance with the constitution. Discussions also addressed the formation of the new Iraqi federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) cabinets.

The Vice President expressed his appreciation to the relevant Turkish authorities for the facilities and services provided in the visa approval process for citizens and tourists from the Kurdistan Region, particularly for citizens in Sulaymaniyah. In this context, he praised the role of the Turkish Consul General and his team.

Sheikh Mustafa also stressed the importance of maintaining and further developing relations between the Kurdistan Region and Türkiye on the basis of mutual interests, especially in the fields of trade and investment.
