Qubad Talabani Reaffirms Need for a Final Resolution of Issues Between Kurdistan Region, Baghdad

Qubad Talabani, member of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), stated that a delegation from the PUK, led by the party's President Bafel Jalal Talabani, met with Iraqi Prime Minister-designate Ali al-Zaidi.

Talabani said in a statement published on his social media accounts that the meeting emphasised the need for a final resolution of outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government of Iraq.

He further said that President Bafel explained that the objective of the PUK is to form a strong government capable of ensuring a dignified standard of living for citizens, addressing economic and security challenges, and safeguarding the rights of all Iraqis—particularly the Kurdish people—in accordance with the constitution.
