Qubad Talabani, member of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), congratulated the Kurdistan Students Association (KSA) on their Golden Jubilee founding anniversary and praised the organisation’s legacy, while underlining ongoing efforts to connect universities more closely with the labour market in Kurdistan.

Talabani's message to the Kurdistan Students Association read:

Dear Kurdistan Students Association,

With deep respect and appreciation, we mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Students Association and pay tribute to the distinguished history of sacrifice and struggle of your organisation. On this important occasion, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the leadership and all members of the association.

We have currently adopted a new strategy and policy. On the one hand, we seek to raise the academic standards of our universities, and on the other, we are working to strengthen the connection between our universities and the labour market and we have taken some important steps in this regard.

In this context, we believe it is essential for the Students Association to coordinate with this policy and strategy, and to support us with new and innovative ideas. This policy will directly benefit students by helping to create employment opportunities within the labour market of Kurdistan.

At the same time, we hope that you will continue your efforts to become, more than ever, the true voice of the students of Kurdistan, so that every student recognises your organisation as a strong defender of their rights.
