Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Glenn Miles, Australian Ambassador to Iraq, at Mam Jalal’s house in Baghdad.

The meeting reviewed the latest political developments in the region and stressed the importance of continuing comprehensive dialogue among all parties, as well as ensuring the success of efforts to secure a permanent ceasefire in the interests of greater stability in the Middle East.

The formation of a new Iraqi government was also discussed. President Bafel outlined the efforts of the PUK to bring political parties closer together, saying that the goal is to establish a strong national and service-oriented government that reflects the aspirations of the people.
