Ukraine Reports At Least 32 Killed in Russian Strikes.

At least 32 people have been killed and around 100 others injured in a series of Russian missile and drone strikes across Ukraine, Ukrainian officials said.

The heaviest casualties were reported in the northern city of Pryluky in Chernihiv region, where a strike hit a residential building. Ukrainian emergency services said at least 22 people were killed in the city, including children, while dozens of others were injured.

Casualties and damage were also reported in Kyiv and several other parts of Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Russia had launched around 70 missiles and dozens of attack drones during the overnight strikes. He described the attacks as among the most “vile strikes” carried out by Russia.

Zelenskiy said energy infrastructure was among the targets and called for further strengthening of Ukraine’s air-defence capabilities.

Ukraine’s Air Force said it had intercepted a large number of the drones launched during the attack, while Ukrainian authorities continued to assess the extent of the damage.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces had carried out what it described as a “massive strike” against military-industrial facilities in Kyiv and other Ukrainian regions.

The ministry said the strikes targeted facilities connected to Ukraine’s defence industry, as well as port and ship-repair infrastructure in the Odesa region.

The latest strikes come amid continued fighting between Russia and Ukraine, with both sides regularly carrying out missile and drone attacks against targets across the conflict zone.

PUKMEDIAAt least 32 people, including children, have been killed and around 100 others injured after Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack across Ukraine, Ukrainian officials said.

The heaviest casualties were reported in the northern city of Pryluky in Chernihiv region, where a Russian missile struck a five-storey residential building. The attack killed at least 22 people, according to Ukraine’s emergency services, while dozens of others were injured.

In the capital Kyiv, four people were killed after Russian strikes and falling drone debris, while casualties and damage were also reported in other parts of the country, including Oleksandria and Kremenchuk.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy condemned the attacks, describing them as among Russia’s “most vile strikes”.

“The Russians wanted to strike painfully and demonstratively. This was one of the most vile strikes,” Zelenskiy said in a video address.

He said Russia had launched around 70 missiles, including high-velocity ballistic missiles, as well as dozens of Shahed attack drones.

Zelenskiy said energy infrastructure was among the key targets, while stressing that Russian ballistic missiles remained one of the biggest challenges facing Ukraine’s air defences.

Ukraine’s Air Force said it had intercepted more than 80% of 46 jet-powered drones launched during the attack. However, Ukrainian officials continue to call for additional air-defence systems, particularly US-made Patriot systems capable of intercepting ballistic missiles.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces had carried out a “massive strike” against military-industrial facilities in Kyiv and several other Ukrainian regions.

The ministry said the strikes targeted sites linked to Ukraine’s defence industry, including facilities belonging to Fire Point, a company involved in the production and storage of cruise missiles and drones. It also reported strikes against port and ship-repair infrastructure in the Odesa region.

The attack came as Ukrainian authorities warned residents in Kyiv and other areas of the possibility of further strikes. Many residents sought shelter overnight in underground metro stations as explosions were heard across the capital.

Ukraine has also continued carrying out attacks inside Russia. Zelenskiy said Ukrainian forces had struck four Russian targets over the previous 24 hours, including two oil facilities and a military training ground.

The latest attacks underline the continuing intensity of the war, with both sides stepping up long-range strikes against military, energy and infrastructure targets.
