Kurdistan Region Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani has thanked the Iraqi Presidency, the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, and Iraqi, Kurdistan Region and foreign leaders and dignitaries who attended the ninth anniversary commemoration of President Mam Jalal’s passing and paid tribute to his struggle, dedication and service.

Under the patronage and in the presence of Iraqi President Nizar Amedi, the President Jalal Talabani Foundation held a memorial ceremony in Baghdad on Saturday, 3 October 2026, marking the ninth anniversary of the passing of President Jalal Talabani.

"Thanks to the Presidency of the Republic and the President Mam Jalal Foundation for organizing this dignified ceremony commemorating the 9th anniversary of the passing of President Mam Jalal," Talabani wrote in a post on social media. "Thank you to each and every one of the esteemed Iraqi, Kurdistan, and foreign leaders and dignitaries for their participation." 

"Also, thanks to those dear ones who, through their beautiful and insightful speeches, highly praised the struggle, dedication, and services of President Mam Jalal," he added.
