Qubad Talabani Praises Efforts to Promote Philosophical Thought Among Kurdish Youth

Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, has praised Dr Irfan Mustafa’s, efforts to promote philosophical thought and intellectual development among young people in Kurdistan.

Talabani visited Dr Mustafa, who is a writer, philosophical researcher and university professor, at his home in Khurmal, Halabja, where they discussed his intellectual projects and work to promote philosophical thinking.

In a social media post, Talabani said that “civilisations and major social transformations have historically begun with philosophical questions and intellectual and cultural change”, describing philosophy and culture as a roadmap for the development and progress of nations.

“We are pleased that there are people like Dr Irfan Mustafa in Kurdistan who have not forgotten this important field and are working voluntarily and enthusiastically to promote philosophical thought among the youth of our country,” Talabani said. “I visited him in Khurmal and was impressed by his vision and intellectual projects.”

“It is our duty to support thinkers, intellectuals and researchers in the fields of thought and philosophy, because they are the light that guides the future path of our people,” he added.
