Women sports Kurdistan Region Iraq

Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, has praised the rapid growth of women's sport in the Kurdistan Region, congratulating the Aphrodite Girls' Volleyball Team after they won this season's Iraqi Volleyball League title.

In a post on social media, Talabani said it was a pleasure to see women's sport growing in Kurdistan year after year.

"Particularly in volleyball, women's and girls sports clubs in Kurdistan have witnessed remarkable progress, and today, Kurdistan's clubs lead at the Iraqi national level," Talabani said.

He added that he welcomed the president, administrative board, coaches, and players of the Aphrodite Girls' Volleyball Team, who became this year's champions of the Iraqi Volleyball League. 

"I congratulated them on this great achievement and reaffirmed my full support for them," Talabani said.

He also asked the team to prepare not only to win more titles in Kurdistan and Iraqi championships, but also to become a prominent name in international tournaments as well.
