PM Lawmaker Reaffirms Nineveh’s Role as a Symbol of Peaceful Coexistence

Harem Kamal Agha, leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) bloc in the Iraqi Parliament, affirmed that Nineveh Province has always been, and will remain, a symbol of peaceful coexistence and brotherhood among its indigenous communities.
He made the remarks during an extensive visit to Nineveh on Sunday, which began at the PUK Organisational Centre in Mosul.
Accompanied by Aras Mohammed Agha, head of the PUK’s Nineveh Organisational Centre in Mosul, Harem Kamal Agha later visited the Nineveh Governorate headquarters, where they were received by Governor Abdul Qadir Al-Dakhil.
During his meeting with the governor, Harem Kamal Agha praised the significant development and reconstruction taking place across Nineveh. He commended the local administration’s efforts to advance reconstruction and consolidate stability, stressing the importance of consensus and closer coordination between the governorate’s representatives and the local administration to ensure the best possible services for residents.
As part of his field tour, Harem Kamal Agha and his delegation visited the Nineveh Provincial Council, where they met with Chairman Ahmed Hasoud and members of the council. Discussions focused on the role of oversight and legal institutions in ensuring the successful implementation of projects and delivery of services to citizens.
Harem Kamal Agha concluded his visit with a meeting with Harith Faris, head of the Nineveh Investment Commission. They discussed ways to develop the governorate’s investment sector and attract capital to revitalise the local economy and create employment opportunities for residents.
