Asayish Arrests Seven Suspected ISIS Terrorists in Sulaymaniyah

The Kurdistan Region Security Agency (Asayish) has announced the arrest of seven ISIS militants wanted by Iraqi courts under Article 4 of the Terrorism Law, who had been hiding in and around Sulaymaniyah.

Acting on intelligence, the General Directorate of Asayish Operations detained the seven individuals, who had previously been members of the terrorist organisation.

On 18 August 2026, the suspects were handed over to the relevant federal authorities, in accordance with the jurisdiction of the area where the alleged crimes were committed, to complete the necessary legal proceedings.
