PUK Official, South Korean CG Discuss Bilateral Relations

Dara Khailany, a member of the Leadership Council of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and Head of the party's Foreign Relations, met with Eoon-Gyo Shim, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in the Kurdistan Region, on Monday, 10 August 2026.

The meeting focused on the latest political developments in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the wider region, as well as ways to strengthen and expand relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Republic of Korea.

Both sides also discussed investment opportunities in the Kurdistan Region, highlighting the potential for greater participation by South Korean companies and investors in the Region's development projects and key economic sectors.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides reaffirmed the importance of maintaining dialogue and coordination while creating new opportunities to deepen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation across a range of fields.
