PUK President Meets KIU Secretary-General in Sulaymaniyah

PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani and KIU Secretary-General Salahaddin Mohammed Bahaaddin.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), visited Salahaddin Mohammed Bahaaddin, Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU), in Sulaymaniyah to offer his condolences following the death of his brother.

During the meeting, which was attended by Shalaw Kosrat Rasul and Salar Lala Sarhad, Head of the Kurdistani Relations Board of the PUK, the two sides discussed the latest political developments in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

President Bafel praised the KIU leader’s influential role in fostering dialogue and narrowing differences between political actors. Both sides also emphasised the importance of strengthening relations between the PUK and the KIU.
