PUK, KJG Stress Importance of Reinforcing National Unity

A high-level delegation of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) received a senior delegation from the Kurdistan Justice Group (KJG), where the two sides issued a joint statement, emphasising the importance of coordination among Kurdish political forces in order to safeguard constitutional rights and defend the financial and political interests of the Kurdish people through a unified and common position in Baghdad.

The joint statement read: 

A senior delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), headed by Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, member of the party's Political Bureau, received on Sunday at the Political Bureau headquarters in Sulaymaniyah a senior delegation from the Kurdistan Justice Group (KJG) led by Mohammed Hakim, member of the party's Political Bureau.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed in detail the latest political developments in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, as well as the vision and political programme of the newly formed Iraqi government.

The PUK and the KJG stressed the importance of strengthening relations among political parties, reinforcing national unity, and recognising the shared responsibility of all parties to better serve the Kurdish people.

The discussions also addressed developments in Iraq and relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi federal government in Baghdad. Both sides emphasised the importance of coordination among Kurdish political forces in order to safeguard constitutional rights and defend the financial and political interests of the Kurdish people through a unified and common position in Baghdad.
