Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), has welcomed the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, describing the move as an important step towards regional de-escalation and stability.

President Bafel said in a message:

We welcome the recent announcement by President Donald Trump and His Excellency Abbas Araghchi regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, alongside the positive steps taken in the ongoing peace process, in particular the ceasefire in Lebanon.

This development represents an important step toward de-escalation at a critical moment for the region. The reopening of this vital waterway not only restores confidence in global energy markets but also contributes directly to regional stability and economic recovery.
