Talabani meets Dutch Consul General.

Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani received Adriaan IJsselstein, the Netherlands’ Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, where they discussed the latest regional developments.

During the meeting, held on Wednesday (1 April 2026), both sides exchanged views on the ongoing conflict and broader regional situation. They expressed hope for an early end to the fighting and emphasised the importance of resolving disputes through dialogue.

Addressing the recent drone and missile attacks on the Kurdistan Region, Talabani stressed that the Region is not a party to the conflict, describing the targeting of Kurdistan as both unjust and unwarranted. He called on the international community to take serious steps to halt the attacks.
