Rohilat Afrin, General Commander of the Women Protection Units (YPJ), reaffirms that Kurdish unity is the greatest victory in the conquest of Kurdish rights.

Afrin spoke to France 24 regarding the 29 January agreement signed between the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian Interim Government.

"The purpose of this agreement was to stop the bloodshed and to preserve the gains that us Kurds have achieved. The Kurds are still here. They've not been wiped off the map," Afrin said during the interview.

"When we concluded this agreement, we understood that apart from the Kurdish forces, no one could protect us," she added. "Kurdish unity is the greatest victory in the conquest of Kurdish rights. That's how we see reality. Only the Kurds can protect Kurdish rights."
