Security Agencies Meet in Sulaymaniyah to Boost Joint Action Against Drugs

A senior meeting on security coordination to combat drug trafficking was held in Sulaymaniyah on 31 July 2025.

The 19th meeting for the Coordination of Security and Intelligence Efforts Against Narcotics was convened by the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics of the Kurdistan Region Asayish Agency. It was held in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Interior’s General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, the Erbil Directorate of Narcotics, and other specialised security agencies.

Participants stressed the importance of enhancing joint efforts, fostering collaboration, and improving the exchange of intelligence to tackle the growing threat posed by narcotics.
