Smoke rises from the wreckage of the Russian aircraft near Tynda.
A Russian Antonov An‑24 passenger plane, carrying 49 people, has been confirmed to have crashed near Tynda in the Amur region, with no survivors, according to multiple reports.
The aircraft, operated by Angara Airlines, disappeared from radar while on approach to Tynda, a remote town in Russia’s far eastern region close to the Chinese border. Rescue teams later discovered the burning wreckage on a mountainside approximately 15–16 km from the town.
Official sources report that the flight was carrying 43 passengers, including five children, and six crew members. Authorities are treating crew error during a low-visibility landing as the probable cause, pending further investigation.
Local officials confirmed that all on board are believed to have died. The crash occurred during a second landing attempt during poor weather conditions, and no distress signals were received before the plane vanished from radar.
Rescue operations have been hampered by difficult terrain, with emergency teams reaching the site on foot due to steep, inaccessible slopes. Authorities have launched a formal investigation into the incident through the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor's Office and related transport authorities.
