Deputy PM Qubad Talabani and a delegation of Iraqi diaspora in the United States.
On Tuesday, 25 February 2025, Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with an Iraqi Diaspora delegation from the United States led by Martin Manna, President of the Chaldean-American Chamber of Commerce, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and coordination, the situation of Christians in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and other issues.
Speaking about the situation of Christians in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, the Iraqi Diaspora delegation praised the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the people of the Kurdistan Region for their continuous support to the Christian community, especially the Chaldeans.
In this context, Deputy PM Talabani stressed the importance of deepening the spirit of coexistence in Kurdistan and said: "As always, Kurdistan remains a country of peaceful coexistence between all communities," appreciating the role and historical positions of Christians in the Kurdistan Region.
In a different part of the discussion, they talked about approaches to enhance trade ties and coordination between the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi Diaspora in the United States. In this regard, the Deputy PM expressed his readiness to provide all kinds of facilitations for investment in the Kurdistan Region.
The meeting also discussed the challenges facing Mosul's reconstruction, and Deputy PM Talabani emphasised that the Kurdistan Region and Kurdish investors are open to any type of cooperation with the federal government and investors interested in participating in the reconstruction process.
