Swedish Social Democratic Party Leader Shows Solidarity with PUK Ahead of Elections

Leader of the Swedish Social Democratic Party, Magdalena Andersson, sends warm wishes to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections. In her message of solidarity, she highlights the longstanding ties between both parties, based on shared values of democracy, equality, and justice.
Andersson states in her message: "I want to send you our best wishes ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. We stand in solidarity with you in this critical moment for the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the region as a whole."
The leader of the Swedish Social Democratic Party further said: "The ties between our parties go back many years and are rooted in our shared values. As social democrats in Sweden and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, we believe in democracy, equality, justice, freedom, and peace. These are values that we need to continue to stand up for and strengthen further."
"We call for free and fair elections. We trust that the citizens of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq will bolster democratic principles, offering inspiration to the wider region and the world," she added. "We wish our sister party great success in the election and look forward to strengthening our bonds in the years to come."
