The meeting focused on the overall situation in the Kurdistan Region and the resolution of issues between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government. It emphasised the importance of ongoing dialogue and the collective efforts of all political forces and parties to benefit the people and establish a more stable future. The meeting also highlighted the need to create more opportunities for citizens, particularly the youth, and to encourage their participation in various fields.
The topic of elections in the Kurdistan Region was also discussed during the meeting, and President Bafel said: "Our objective is to hold elections without any delay. Our region needs holding fair elections to change governance and enhance the efficacy of legal institutions."
He further clarified: "We have made great efforts to ensure that this election is free from fraud and messing with people's votes. The majority of political forces and parties are expecting a timely and fair electoral process, thereby eliminating any doubts regarding the status of our region."
President Bafel clarified the stance of the PUK on Kirkuk and the necessary legal and administrative processes. He stated that as the victorious party in the election, they are committed to resolving the issues and selecting a governor who will foster a stronger sense of coexistence in the city.
