DPM Talabani Urges Qatari Investors to Invest in Kurdistan

KRG Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani and Ahmad Hassan Al Hamadi, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, participated in the inaugural event of the Consulate General of Qatar in the Kurdistan Region. Following that, he had a meeting with Ahmad Hassan Al Hamadi, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
The meeting was held on Sunday, May 26, 2024, and was attended by Safeen Dizayee, Head of the Kurdistan Region, and Daban Shadala, Deputy Head of Foreign Relations.
The Qatari Ambassador to Iraq and the Qatari Consul General in the Kurdistan Region were also present. DPM Talabani congratulated the establishment of the Qatari Consulate General in the Kurdistan Region. He emphasised that this development is an essential measure to enhance and advance bilateral relations between the two nations across multiple domains.
The topic of discussion was how to attract Qatari investors to the Kurdistan Region. DPM Talabani expressed the Kurdistan Regional Government's willingness to offer various facilities to Qatari investors. He emphasised that the Kurdistan Region is highly suitable for investment, particularly in the sectors of industry, agriculture, and tourism. Talabani expressed hope that the Consulate General of Qatar would actively promote Qatari investment in the Kurdistan Region.
During another part of the discussion, the participants deliberated on strategies to enhance and cultivate human capital in the Kurdistan Region. Qubad Talabani highlighted Qatar's successful track record in this area and requested their assistance in sharing that expertise with Kurdistan.
