In spite of Kurdish plight, the Presidency is ours.

One of the wounds in the body of Kurdish history that never seems to heal is a malady known as (The Kurdish Plight), It is a term that signifies internal strife—self-cannibalism, betrayal, and the act of stabbing one's own siblings and nation in the back. 

It appears that this foul disease was born at the same moment as the Kurdish people themselves, History bears witness to the Kurds' inability to agree on a single vision and their refusal to cease undermining those who share their destiny, what could have been achieved if the Kurds had displayed unity in Baghdad? It is particularly evident what kind of power and influence the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) wields, any effort regarding the Kurdish destiny in Baghdad is a continuation of the formidable architecture and roadmap laid down by Mam Jalal, Neither friend nor foe can ignore or forget what Mam Jalal accomplished in Baghdad—a legacy now inherited by his party, This is especially true given that the party’s current leader is truly his father's son, impressing both Kurds and non-Kurds alike with his capabilities and competence, It would have been a fine sight had the Kurds spoken with one voice during the election of the President of Iraq, ensuring the world viewed the Kurdistan Region’s experience with respect, What wisdom is there in stubbornness? Why enter into a failing political experiment against a party like the PUK? Furthermore, why should the Kurdish parliamentary struggle be tarnished? It was a meaningless challenge, The poet Hemin Mukriyani, in his masterpiece (Nalay Judayi /The Wail of Separation), wrote: 

“Time has ground me down like fine soap-powder
 Kurdish plight has stripped me of all strength and power."

It is true that Kurdish plight  has severely struck our strength and exhausted us throughout both distant and recent history, becoming the primary cause of our weakness, However, what is truly astonishing—and deserving of praise—is that despite the existence of this internal affliction, the Kurds secured the post of President of the Republic, This victory proves that the representative of a living nation in Baghdad works tirelessly, day and night, to defend our rights and entitlements, No force can halt or push back the momentum of this soft power that asserts our existence, While most of us are heartened by the result, I must say quite frankly: 

(it is a deep embarrassment for the Kurds to appear disunited amidst the complex current state of the world, the region, and Iraq), I do not know what political justification can be offered for displaying such a fractured Kurdish house, But I am certain—and have known for a long time, as you do too—that  Kurdish plight will not cease in Kurdistan until we ourselves bring it to an end, Therefore, let us not allow Kurdish plight to finish us, let us be the ones to finish it.
